The rider is Sam Hawkins from Ullapool in the west highlands of Scotland. Riding in the dust was a nice change for him and his fiancé Rachael (in the bottom pic). They both worked at tA cooking for up to 40 guests and 14 staff every week, yet they somehow still managed to find time to ride... and be faster than most other people on the mountain.
